About Us
Berkeley Inns Limited is a fast-expanding pub restaurant group based in the UK.
We were first established in November 2014 to acquire and re-develop several unloved or closed but prominent pubs in the Midlands area. Our mission is to create viable, high-quality food-led establishments while recapturing or maintaining the atmosphere of the local village pub and more recently central London pubs and bars.

In April 2015, Berkeley Inns Limited took over the well-known Three Horseshoes, now The Horseshoes in Long Lane Village, Derbyshire. Extensive refurbishments and extensions were carried out. The pub reopened with the new restaurant extension in September 2015. We were immediately delighted with the public reaction and have been increasingly busy ever since. In May 2017, we made further improvements alongside a re-brand and developed a new and more refined dining experience, constantly improving quality. In 2020 we added four private dining facilities within luxury garden rooms and revisited the garden designs. The Horseshoes continues in 2022 as one of Derbyshire’s leading pub and restaurant destinations.
Early in November 2016, after over ten years of closure, we reopened the extended and much renovated Cock Inn at Mugginton, Derbyshire. The pub had, before 2006, been a renowned landmark pub. We have been delighted with the public response to the project; with over 120 dining covers, the business is consistently busy and feedback outstanding, serving up to 2000 freshly made meals per week. We are confident of a sustainable long-term future for this gem of a pub once lost to the area. On July 18th 2022, we sold the Cock to The RedCat Pub Company.
We opened The Cow at Dalbury Lees in December 2017. After renovation and extension, we created a small boutique hotel featuring 12 individually designed, en-suite bedrooms alongside a much-renovated bar and restaurant area. The rooms remain in very high demand from leisure and business travellers. Since its inception, we have been experiencing very high occupancy levels, and the new fresh fish-based restaurant has gone from strength to strength.
In May 2019, we were delighted to reopen the renowned Meynell Ingram Arms in Hoar Cross, Staffordshire. This historic Staffordshire pub was closed for over five years and was acquired by Berkeley Inns Ltd in November 2018. In the six months following, the property underwent a major but sympathetic refit and redesign. The traditional pub bar remains very much at its heart, complemented by modern and comfortable dining areas. Further, the much transformed Sam’s bar becomes an on-trend bar/restaurant showing major sporting events. The new offering provides casual, relaxed dining, with a high-quality and diverse menu throughout the various dining areas. From delicious pie & chips to fresh seafood and a vegan-specific menu, there is something for all tastes and occasions. The public response has been fabulous, and after such a fragmented couple of years due to the national lockdowns/restrictions, we have experienced a fabulous bounce-back during 2021/2022. On July 18th 2022, we sold the Meynell to the RedCat Pub Company.
Following two years of planning and a renovation project extended by the global pandemic, In July 2021, we were delighted to deliver our vision for the wonderful Bluebell Inn in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire. With multiple extensions, new and beautifully designed outside areas, and a new state-of-the-art kitchen and cellar, we bring a serious quality edge to the offer at The Bluebell. The Bluebell offers a mouth-watering menu, brilliant cocktails, and a wide range of premium beers, wines and spirits. All served in a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
In the summer of 2022, the Cock Inn and the Meynell Ingram Arms were successfully sold.

We are actively seeking new sites for our newly created London division and in the Midlands. We have recently acquired our first two London projects, the fabulous Rugby Tavern and also The Last Judgment in Holborn/Bloomsbury, central London. We are carrying out major works to create exceptional pubs and hope to have The Last Judgment re-opened in mid-May 2023 and the new Rugby re-opened in early July 2023.
